Online Safety and Digital Literacy for Girls at the Pacific Girls in ICT 2024

As part of the Pacific Girls in ICT 2024 initiative, the digital skills training programme on “Online Safety and Digital Literacy for Girls” will be organized virtually by the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) (TBC), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (TBC), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on Thursday, 15 August 2024.

Participant Profile:

The program is open to students, girls, boys, young women, young men, and youths aged 12 to 24 years. It aims to include participants from low-income backgrounds, remote locations, and those with specific needs across the Pacific, including Fiji, Tonga, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Prerequisite Knowledge:

  • Basic skills to ICTs

Technology Requirements to attend the training:

  • Laptop or desktop computer with Internet connection
  • Smartphone and phone cable to connect phone with laptop or desktop computer with Internet connection

Training Delivery Method:

  • Instructor-Led (In Class or Online with Live Instructor)
