The objective of the APT session is to share the outcome of the APT Young Professional and Student Programme (APTYPS) which was held in 2021 and to encourage young female students in Thailand to develop  their knowledge of how to build their academic path in the field of  STEM, especially ICTs. Further it will demonstrate the advantage having digital skills for their future careers. It is critical for women to get sustainable jobs to create a gender-equal society. Additionally, ICT skills or jobs would help achieve a stable income, employment, and get into entrepreneurship. 

This webinar will help female students to eliminate their hesitation for the ICT or STEM fields, encourage them to join various opportunities, and to learn ICT knowledge or digital skills. The session will illustrate the background, objective, and outcome of events organized under the APT young professional programme. The detailed information could motivate the female students to learn ICT skills and consider the ICT field as one of the options for their future career as it is critical for women to get the sustainable job to create the gender equal society and the ICT skills would help for their stable income, employment, and challenging of entrepreneurship.

13:05-13:35 – Session1: The promotion of digital economy in Thailand by DEPA and introducing the successful program of APTYPS 2021

Thailand organized digital media contest online and prizes in 2021 for driving Digital Inclusion of people with disabilities and vulnerable children. The Speakers share the event with the audience and explain their policy or engagement for Digital Inclusion or empowering vulnerable group.

13:35-14:05 – Session 2 : SheHacks Vanuatu – empowering young professionals in advanced real technology

The SMART Sistas Committee and Girls Geek Academy in Vanuatu organized a three days hackathon event “SheHacks Vanuatu – empowering Young Professionals in Advanced Real Technology”. The Speaker share the outcome of the event and inspire female students in Thailand by reporting how the girls enjoyed the Hackathon and delivering how it will work for their future.
