Overview<\/h2>\r\n

International Girls in ICT Day Girls in ICT Day is celebrated worldwide every year on the fourth Thursday of April (28 April 2022). Girls in ICT Day provides an opportunity for girls and young women to see and be exposed to the benefit of ICT in enabling their careers and aspiration. Over 377,000 girls and young women have taken part in more than 11,400 celebrations of International Girls in ICT Day in 171 countries worldwide. <\/p>\r\n

\r\n For girls and young women to thrive in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers, they need to acquire skills to become both ICT users and creators in the digital world. That\u2019s why, in consultation with youth, we identified \u201cDigital Skills for Life\u201d as our theme for Girls in ICT 2023. \r\n This year and every year, ITU and our partners work together to inspire and encourage girls to pursue a future in ICTs and to empower them by ensuring they have the necessary skills, confidence and support to achieve their goals.. The Girls in ICT Day Thailand launched on 27th April and extending until 31st July 2023, introduces as a series of training and events that fall under three tracks:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

  3. Career in ICT Track<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with Thammasat University, School of Global Studies, is organising an event under the Digital Skills Track: Digital Skills Seminar on Emerging Technology and Digital Skills. Supported by UNESCO, this seminar aims to deliver basic levels of digital skills training in various areas of ICT, including Emerging Technology and digital skills development.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    When & Where:<\/h2>\r\n

    The seminar is set to take place on 13 July 2023 at the Room 102, 1st Floor, Faculty of Social Administration, Thammasat University, Thaprachan Campus Thailand.<\/p>\r\n

    Objective:<\/h2>\r\n

    In this one-day seminar, we aim to introduce participants to various areas of ICT, to help guide their studies and career choices. Specifically, we will:<\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    1. Discuss emerging technologies like quantum computing, blockchain\/Web3, and machine learning. Our aim is to spark interest and provide a basic understanding of these topics for all attendees.<\/li>\r\n
    2. Share information about ITU\u2019s role in ICT for Development (ICT4D) and what they offer, including the opportunity for ongoing learning through the ITU Academy's training courses.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
